The trauma of losing a laptop will soon be over with a revolutionary new service called Laptop Tracker launched in Hyderabad by Kailash Katkar, Chairman  & MD, Quick Heal technologies The technology has been developed by Quick Heal Technologies; the country’s leading anti virus solution provider and was launched in the presence of company VP Corp.Comm. MJ Srikant.

 She expressed her willingness to use this technology support in her state for which she would like the cyber crime dept heads to understand the same. She has also expressed her willingness to officially launch it in the presence of police officers.

 With the launch of the new service, it is expected to not only let laptop owners breathe easy but also provide law enforcement agencies with a surefire method of tracking and recovering lost laptops.

 Quick Heal has launched this service as part of its corporate social responsibility and as a service to community. Hence the service is free of charge and can be availed by anybody, whether a Quick Heal user or not. It is also aimed at assisting the police by providing them interface with the website. With the launch of the service Quick Heal also aims to create a database of stolen laptops for the help of users and potential buyers.

 Speaking about the service, Managing Director & CEO Kailash Katkar said: “This technology from Quick Heal will provide a powerful tool to the society at large and to the police force, thus reducing their burden.  All that a laptop owner has to do is register with Quick Heal on its website www.trackmylaptop.net for the service through Mac-id and it keeps continuous track of where the laptop is. If the laptop is stolen then Quick Heal Laptop Tracker service traces the Laptops on the basis of Mac-id and IP address. This information can then be used by the police to track it down and retrieve it.

 MD & CTO Sanjay Katkar said: “We look at the service from three different angles. It can help trace a laptop when it is lost or misplaced. It will also help police and law enforcement agencies in trying to trace the owners when they recover laptops. Besides which, it can also be used by customers to determine whether a laptop has been stolen when buying a second hand laptop.”
